Honda Civic CVT transmission woes
I have a 1997 HX with a CVT. It has 94,000 miles.
I am now hearing, at sudden or abrupt stops a moaning sound each time this happens. Anyone have any idea what is causing this? The mechanics at the dealer were clueless. Their response was they would just have to order a new transmission at a cost of $3200. Ouch! They don't know what's going on inside one of these CVT's and don't even try to repair them. Their instructions are just to get a new one. This is my 3rd Honda and if the CVT is going to "play out" this soon (I'm used to getting over 125,000 on my other Honda's) I am very dissapointed in the CVT. I welcome your input, ideas and suggestions. |
