Re: is this possible
If you know the right people yes.
If you dont know anyone than no. Or it depends on the deals you get.

Re: is this possible
yes it is possible to get everything you need for 1800, i got all my parts for like 300 so saying the motor is roughly 1300. he should be able. now if you want good parts, thats a different story and also depends how complete is the swap

Re: is this possible
yeah but did you factor in the at least 150-300-for cheapo ebay mounts, 150-linkage, axles(teg ones) still should set you back about 50, plus i know before you put er all in you will want to change the timing belt! You also will need other misc parts (oil, coolant, tranny fluid,) Also you need the engine shipped if you cant pick it up.
But honestly yes you can do it easaly for under 1800 bucks. Im going back now to a 1.8L b16a... Here are my costs: 300-engine b16a (local needed top end stuff, no dizzy) 150-ys1 5spd tranny+ axles and int. shaft(from junkyard 150-ebay mounts 130-shiftlinkage 160-head gasket set and timing belt 25-distributor 140-pr3 ecu Free-map sensor tps sensor, knock, iacv, and vtec sel.(pocketed!) So my total cost is about $1100ish. Add up to see if im correct. YOu could always go with a b18a which can be easaly found in junkyards for about 150bucks and rebuild it! Total cost |

Re: is this possible
Should be.. Lots of shopping around and talking to people.
I payed less than $900usd. for my B16. Motor, tranny, ECU, linkage. ![]() You just have to get to know people around you, even a few hours away.. |
