Hello,
My oil has a faint smell of fuel to it, and is kind of thin. I'm overdue for a change, but that doesnt figure with the smell..... Is it blow-by or? thanks, RS |

No way for fuel to get into the oil, but by the piston rings. There is a rich condition, possbily cuased by an injector that is hung open, or something like that. A bad O2 sensor will make things pretty damn rich, but I dont know that it would be enough to get fuel in the oil. I would definitely look into it further though. Excessive fuel gives you a problem called "bore wash," where the fuel that is getting by the rings is washing all the oil off. Ring, piston, and cylinder wear will be accelerated.
