1990 jeep cherokee pioneer

We have a 1990 Jeep cherokee pioneer that is overheating esp when stopped. The temps rise some as you are driving. We have put in a new tstat and it is working correctly. The electric fan doesn't seem to be coming on. Where is the fan/relay located? Thanks for the help.

I doubt the relay is the prob, the electric fan will only kick on when the temp is about 230. The electric fan will only need to come on if you are offroading, towing, or have the ac running. If your temp will not stay relativly close to 210 when stopped then you most likely need a new clutch for the mechanical fan. This is the problem with Jeeps heating up in traffic 9 out of 10 times. If the fan clutch is worn then the fan will not be able to move enough air at low speeds or idle in order to keep the water temp down.

A few bolts and a few minutes is all it takes.

http://www.jeep-parts-dealer.com/
This site has OE parts at the BEST PRICES! I think one costs about $85, where as $130 gets you a flex-a-lite, spacer, more cfm, less bearing wear on your water pump, and no fan clutch to wear out. I like the flex-a-lite route

Aux fan

The auxilary fan will come on when you jump the fan but will not come on when you turn the a/c on. Any thoughts? We really appreciate your help.
