Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
Hi,
after i am done with my models on the bench,i am here with a new one. The porsche carrera rsr turbo. ![]() Quelle:Supercars.net a link to the porsche site: http://www.porsche.com/germany/sport...rrerarsrturbo/ The car is for me the most powerful looking porsche 911 that they ever made. Over 500 HP and a big huge rear wing that shows his power to every enemy. So i bought the only kit that is available for this car from mexico. But the result was not that was i expected.Take a look here: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On that base cant be made a good looking car,so i bought a porsche 934 body from Wim from Bestbalskits in Belgium. Thanks Wim! ![]() Shortly after that buy,a guy in a german modeling board sell his build porsche 934. Now its mine and i took a while to remove the color. There was more color on it than a clown uses in a year! ![]() ![]() For my capri project i uses an old porsche 935 for spares. This car is also very helpful for this.So when i got it ready i can also build a new porsche 934 from the rest. In this project are not so many scratchbuild parts needed. The rear wing with the hood and window. The fenders and the tire/rim combination must be made. I think the rest can be used from the 934/935 porsches. Thats all for now. Thanks Christian |

Re: Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
Ha! - I think that original kit has potential...a real challenge.
Seriously, looking forward to seeing this one develop. Looks like you've got plenty of donor parts to work with, and I'm sure the rest will not be a problem for you. I love the way they painted parts of the rear wing in black to try to make it look smaller... Have fun! |

Re: Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
If you Ever want to sell the resin kit, let me know....it indeed require a LOT..A LOT of work but as Scrachtbuild said...it does have potential, just let me know.
Great project and after seeing your superb scrachtbuilt Capri competition car, this Porsche will be another masterpiece. |

Wow, no kidding, that Mexican kit is a mess, potential maybe, but I think your alternate route is by far better!

Re: Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
Dont wanna bust your bubble but bestbalsakits is very expansive!! everything is about twice as expensive than anywhere else! just browse the net a bit and you will find what your looking for a lot cheaper...just something to think about next time

Sorry! I got it here in the selling thread linked to my ebay auction. @ thijs37: I know that Wim got prices for his kits who are not from this planet. ![]() ![]() But he sold me a body shell from the porsche 934 for a bargain price, believe me. I dont know where to get a new body set from, but Wim got it. We made some deals in the last weeks together. So no worry about the prices. He is a real modeling guy who made his own trans kits and more stuff. He is a great guy who is always there when someone needs help. Good the see that a lot of people are watching. Thanks! Just working with a lot of putty to make the fenders looks like the real one. Maybe i got some pics tonight? regards Christian |

Re: Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
I found the kit on Ebay. If you look close, you can see the terrible detail, now that you know what to look for. It's still not as bad as what is shown in this thread. Not worth the money at all.

Re: Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
Hemi Killer,
Thanks for the ebay link, you are correct about the price, simply insane and even more after seeing here what one will really receive in the end. Capri-Schorsch, As stated before by fellow modelers, the route you are taking is the best and this will be another stunning creation from your workbench, I am looking forward to see more updates, great project!!! |

Re: Porsche Carrera Turbo Martini RSR in 1/12
Christian - what type of "filler" "putty" are you using for sculpting the shape of the body??
It really is shaping up fast John |
