Unhappy ZC axles question... please help!!!! im desperate

I bought my DOHC ZC and it came with a ZC tranny which had a section of axle on it (Im pretty sure its the intermediate shaft but not sure) Well, my plan was to put an Si tranny in with the engine and sell the ZC one because most of my driving is on the highway. Come to find out the Si one that I was gonna use needs $400 worth of repairs just to work. So now I think I might use the ZC one but need to know what else I need in order for it to work in my 91 DX. And how much these parts would cost. Please please please help me cuz i just want to get this damn engine in. Thanks.

nope just get some new boots and new bands and get some SYNTHETIC grease and pack the fuck out of the joints and the axles will last for a long time (junk yard anxles work good) trust me use the synthetic grease dont use bearing grease that will eventually wear out but u see u pack them the first time then after that every sooo often get a small needle point for your great gun and slide it under the boot and squirt some grease under the boot ti'll it it full then the axles will last a LONG ass time i mean a LONG TIME even after lots of abuse i've had axles on a 4wd subaru last 90k+miles (that is very rare for a late 80's subaru)

Thumbs up

if you are going to rebuild the CV joints anyway, try to find synthetic/polyethelene boots (the blue ones)...the natural rubber is usually what fails and cracks, and the moisture gets in and ruins the grease.

We have those axles sitting around here if you need them. I am sure my buddy would let them go for hella cheap. Thats if you cant find any locally.

Maybe like $40 + shipping. I will ask him if $20 is good, then go from there.
