Dezoris, those aren't Volk, Te-37's, are they? I didn't know they made em in that finish, unless those are the Le-37's

I was thinking of getting Te-37's in 17", but they are pretty pricey, huh?

In 17"s YES probably like 450+ a rim, mine were about 400 a rim.
They are the only rims I ever really loved, so I would never replace them, 1st times a charm

hey Dez, is that a custom heat shield for the intake or did you buy it? I would like some info on it as my intake sucks in real hot air cuz it sets even closer to the engine than yours. One side gets hot and the other stays cool. I would like all info available on that heat sheild. Thanx.

handmade, from sheet metal and aluminum brackets.
I used thermo rap on the side the filter is on, which is not in the picture. It is not so much the heat that effects the filter (according to dyno testing) as it is the radiator fan kicking on blowing hot air. Actually the best thing I can tell you is to run your car and wait for the fan to kick on feel how the air is blown and make a shield to block it. I tested the temps and it prevents a 15 degree temp hike when the fan kicks on

Dez, I would imagine the shield would heat up, and since its so close to the filter, it would heat the filter up. so it would make less air get in, and whatever air got in, it'd be really hot

Please, note, there is thermo tec wrap on the side of the filter to prevent heat buildup, if you notice, on the left of the filter there is piping bringing up fresh air to the filter, as I said it keeps it cooler by 15 degrees.

Ahhh, I didn't notice that little pipe thing. Does it run down to the lower bumper? I used to have a set up kinda like that., cept I got my pipe to run to the lower grill. so it was kinda of a scoop when I went fast.

hmmm that's pretty interesting. I also notice that the end of your filter is open. What does that do? Mine has a closed end. I didn't even know there was a such thing as open-ended filters. What's the difference?

Just more air flow, I consider the K&N/Akimoto funnel ram to be one of the best cotton gauze filter out there from the bench flows I've seen. Not as good as a clean foam filter but close.
