Fram Re Calls 3614 Oil Filters That Fit 3VZE

F.Y.I. Fram has recalled and pulled ALL 3614 Oil Filters that fit the 3VZE.
Below is a link with further information. I called Fram...they were less than forthcoming about the situation. Apperantly the o ring seals blow out and cause heavy oil loss and possible catastrophic engine failure. The direct phone number to Fram Product Evaluation Team is 888-889-8374

Try some other brand of filter until they fix the problem.

No more Fram for me man....I am driving.
When I went to buy a replacement Fram filter a few weeks ago, the shelves were cleaned out of all ph3614. I changed out the cheap ph3614 with the heavy BOSCH D3330. My 3VZE enging immediatley stopped cold start knock. The BOSCH fits, feels and performs like a precision oil filter should. It filters particulate matter down to 40 microns, with a silicone drian back valve. Fram may be paying out BIG $$$$ in engine damage claims, before this is all over with.

Toyota, Mobil 1, PureOne, Wix are all good filters.

For a few dollars more, why not use Toyota oil filters? Seems like a good strategy given the imporatnce of the filter in the engine's lube system...a cheap insurance plan.
