1/24 Revell BMW Z1

Hi all.

Here's a model I built a few months ago. Not as happy with it as I thought I would be, but hope you like it anyway.

The seats are resin items made by Mikhail Petrenko (stratos75).
Some WIP pictures can be seen in this thread: http://forum.autoinscale.com/viewtopic.php?id=5798

Why aren't you happy with it? I think it looks great. I love the emerald green color. Why did you use different seats? Were the stock ones in correct?

Particularly because of the rake and some wheel misalignment - camber and toe went a bit wrong after I attached the wheels, and I can't fix it because the wheels won't come off.

That's a beautiful color on the body. Where did you get it? Excellent job.

Great work!

It is such a strange kit of a beautiful but odd little car, I've long wondered if something nice can be made of it. Judging by your build, I would say yes. Your additions to the engine bay look very good. The paintwork and body look great.

Hey, it's a Revell of Germany kit...don't beat yourself up.

Great build and finish!

Ah I see. Did you get a shop to mix it for you? Did you ask them to substitute a finer grade of pearl or metallic?

I think this is a fantastic model you made. I would be very pleased with myself for such a result. I agree that the engine bay and paintwork is very well done.

Yes, the paint was mixed by a shop. Pearl paints have very small grain originally, so there was no need to alter the formulation.
