Cool Fujimi Ferrari 288 GTO Enthusiast kit progression sessions.

One of the coolest Ferrari's ever, the 288 GTO! The kit is Fujimi's Enthusiast series which translates to around 200 parts of fun and patience. I started this one about two years ago and just resumed it a few days ago. Much of what you see is the completed basic painting steps with the exception of the engine which I have began detailing.
My plan is to mildly tune the looks of this car(as if it needs it ) The top half of the car will be TS16 Yellow as presented and the lower half will be black. The interior will be mostly black with black and yellow Daytona style treatment.

Paint detailing, plug wire and hose clamps are the current step. The parts were completely smooth with zero texture so I sprayed them with SMS Faux Fabrix texture paint for the cast aluminum look before metalizing.

Thinking about going with Fujimi Speed Line 18" wheels because they have a Ferrari-ish look to them, but the 288 is like the NSX and C5 Vette in that the front wheel openings are smaller than the rear which make same size rims all around look awkward.

Most of the parts placed in an orginizer.

Trim rings to fatten the rears, perhaps?

Looks great! Make sure the cat doesn't knock over the tray of parts!!

Mmmmm, 288GTO </Homer>

Fujimi kit is great, but you'll have to be careful when aligning the parts. When I built mine the windshield and dash interfered slightly and it was too hard to correct that when the car was practically finished

Also the turbo plumbings need to be aligned carefully, otherwise there will be gaps between them when you put the intercoolers on.

Thanks for the tip! I already noticed the plumbing was going to take some tweaking to fit, I'll check that dash now.

Looks smooth so far Veyron!
Why not use the stock rims?
And what happened to your Panoz?

The wheel decision won't be final til the car is done, there is a strong chance the stock ones will be used.
The Panoz is about 80% done, I love the car but it's a boring model to build, that's why I built three Tuners in a row so I could use some imagination.
The 288 is a nice change because it's been a long time since I detailed an engine.

Moving slowly along, got plug wires, some turbo plumbing and exhaust in place. Alignment of all this plumbing is unknown at this point, these parts fit loosely so adjustments will have to be made in the next steps when I get to the intercoolers. Most of this will be hidden once the body is mated to the chassis.
