1994 Ford Explorer Keyless Entry
How do you program the remote for a 1994 Ford Explorer. I know that you have to do something with the box in the left rear 1/4 panel but what exactly. thanks

If you are talking about the keyless entry via the key fob. Turn the key from off to accessory position about 5 times in rapid succession (less than 10 seconds total time and end in accessory position) You will hear the locks cycle, then hit the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob. It will set the remote. If you have more than one remote, make sure to do them at the same time.
For the keyless door entry (number combination) check the back panel where the jack is stored for the factory preset code. |

1994 Ford Explorer Keyless entry
Hi
thanks for replying but i have a 1994 Explorer and that is different than the 1995 and up explorers. I have to jump some wires in the back by the jack and then my explorer will enter programing mode. i am not even sure if i have keyless entry for my vehicle. there is a black box right in front of the jack so i am hoping that is for the keyless entry but i do not know for sure. i can not find any wires on there to jump. thanks for the help and if you know anything about that black box back there then that would be greatly appreciated. thanks again. Mike |

ok i have a 94 and this is how I did it I just bought a new remote and it works great....you know where the box is in front of the jack that is you alarm box take a small paper clip and bend it in a U for a jumper on the box are 3 connectors the lower of the 3 is the one you want. have all remotes for the truck in your hand turn the ignition to ACC and leave it that way unlock all doors. take the paper clip and jump the top left and lower left wires on the lower black connector the locks should cycle ( close and open this is program mode leave the paper clip in take your first remote and hit lock the doors lock take your second and do the same. Both remotes are now programmed turn the key off and remove now takee the paper clip out you are all set.

Have all the doors unlocked( by using the power controls. now have all remotes for the vehicle in hand. remove the jack cover. on the alarm unit you will have 3 harness connections the one you want is the lower. with the key in the acc position use a metal paperclip bent in a U to jump they top left wire (gray with a yellow stripe) and the bottom left wire ( white ) the locks will cycle closed then open to signify programming mode. press the lock button one the remote. then press lock on your second remote both are now programmed. Turn the key to off and remove, then remove your paper clip jumper replace cover and thats it. Any thing else contact me if I can help at [email protected] |

thanks!!
A HUGE thanks to cerealkiller!! I would have NEVER figured this out it it weren't for your instructions. I have a 1994 and a 2002 Explorer and I have new keyless entry for both. The 2002 was a piece of cake but the 1994 was a pain.
Thanks again! |

Re: 1994 Ford Explorer Keyless Entry
okay - here is a pic of my 1994 access area. I can not find the wires. I'm assuming mine does not have the option but I'd like to make sure.
Thank you... http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...6/PC280174.jpg
