P10 - trunk gettin a little heavy :(

when opening the trunk to my P10, it seems to get harder and harder to lift. i think the two little lifter things ( duno what they are called ) are shot.

anyone know where I could get replacement ones, and/or how much they might run me?

thanks

my 91 g was like that when i got it hehe is the trunk supposed to pop open by itself or w/ very little effort? because i have to literally pull it up, and then apply some extra force because the black pumps are resisting

I think that the trunk lid has always been this way, even since the car was new.

hah, I've got the same problem. I called the dealer and the lift supports are $116 each! At least Autozone can get some Mighty Lift ones for a more normal price of $33 a piece. Autozone only has them listed under 1993 Infiniti G20 and has no listing for 94,95 or 96.

On the same complaint, does anyone notice that the G20 does not have a dash indicator light? What I meant to say is that there is no warning indication in the display console when the trunk is open.

yeah! my trunk dun go up by itself either! and the lifters give resistance since they are messed up... sucks... My parents bought the car used in 96 and I think it's always been like that... I'm not sure tho. If I take the car, I'm definately gonna look into fixing that.

On the plus side, u can hide in the trunk with the lid shut and it not locked Me and my friends have had some fun with that, hehe.

Do you have air bags on either side??

Are the side moldings the same color as the car or are they black plastic??

Are your seatbelts the dumb automatic ones??
