ABS light on, stays on, what could cause it?

Yesterday I am driving around a wet parking lot and I lightly applied the brakes. I felt the ABS pulsing against the brake pedal for half a second or so, then it stopped. Less than a minute later, my ABS light came on. I tried restarting the car, but it still came on once I started driving. What could cause the ABS warning light to engage? I recently had brake work done, my pads and rotors were replaced. I have checked the ABS, brake, and clutch fluid levels and they’re ok. I think the ABS fluid may be a little over, but it’s been like that for months now and there’s been no problems. I have never had the ABS light come on. I tried making a few hard stops over some puddles in a parking lot to see if the ABS would engage but it never did, and I can honestly say that ABS saved my ass a few times last winter. So again, what would commonly cause the ABS warning light to engage? Any help would be appreciated.

I dont know if this relates to yours, but when we had our Montana we went through a corn field and the stalks pulled the wires or w/e out of the brakes, i'd check one of those, otherwise it could just be a faulty sensor, prob cuz it got wet or something.

The easiet way would be to pull the code. I'm guessing that a wheel sensor got busted during the rotor replacement.

You would need a very expensive scan tool - dealer or mechanics can do it. The dealer will charge 1.0hr of labor.

So today i decide to drive away slowly to see at what speed or at how many seconds the ABS warning light engages. Usually it will engage within 20mph, or withing 30 seconds, but today it didn't come on??? it came on when i tried a stop on a wet puddle accidentally, and it's been rainy ever since. Today was also wet, i got to my first stop sign thinking it would come back on when i depressed the brake, but it didn't! i felt the abs pulsing quite a bit today. Temperatures around here have been dropping lately. Could that be a reason why it malfunctioned for a couple days? Maybe a pressure problem that went away after a few days? It's been a while since i felt the ABS system go off. Well, hopefully it wont' come back. Wish me luck, my car has enough problems

I still think one of the ABS wheels sensors got fucked during the rotor replacement - it also could be something unrelated. The only way to know is to pull the DTC(code)
