Here's some of the parts I made for the alternator over the weekend.
Rear of the Housing, Windings, Mounting Bracket/Plate, Clamp Plate, and Fan. Still much work ahead just for this sub-assembly, but it is nice to be working on it again... - Mark

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

You might as well machine a whole block and make it run. Simply amazing.

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

Amazing, every part of this model looks so realistic.
I would love to see this (and your other's) model in person! But I live in NZ.
I'm glad you have an understanding wife, my fiance is great aswell. Although she does'nt understand how I get so excieted about little plastic cars, she does understand the skill and patience that goes into them. She's even having a go at building one herself. (I'm helping of course)
So It's great to have someone who gives an outside opinion on my work.
keep up the amazing work, I still can't believe that alternator is not a real one!

Made some more progress on the alternator the last couple days... There's over a dozen individual scratchbuilt pieces to make up the parts in this picture... - Mark

And the ruler is back...

I think it should be scaled-up ruler instead.

Great work there Scale-Master. I'm amazed at your modelling and machining skill. Flawless as usual. Your builds always makes me wanted to build better or at least as good as you.... then again... if I can build half as good as you, I'm already a happy man.

Half? I think you mean 1/24th.

Once again, you amaze me with you skill.

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

i find this so impiring, i keep telling myself that one day i'll be able to do this (hopefully) i can design stuff but that's nothing compared to making it.

scale-master, you've ever inspired me to go and buy a lathe and milling machine, i dont know how i'll afford it after i buy it, where i'll put it or how to use it. but im sure i'll learn.

when it comes to the time when i embark on my next project im sure i'll think back to myself and remember seeing this and knowing it's the sole inspiration for machining everything myself. so thank you. and keep up the good work.

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

This is truly awesome stuff Mark, I look forward to seeing it when I make it back to a meeting one friday night.

I also just noticed that the Alternator fan has seven blades!! This truly is a Super Seven!!

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

all those parts are so tiny, looks very tedious. How can you stand it. My brain woud start to hurt after 30 seconds.
