ARe you talking about the body itself, with or without primer?

Don't use model master unless your really expierienced with the stuff.

It's much easier to use a Tamiya spray can and the paint flow so much better throught the Tamiy spray can then modelmaster/testors spray cans.

Here is a good (sort of) analogy.

Tamiya is a healthy athlete that can breath very well.

Model master/ testors/ boyd is a fat slob with high cholestorol, and is asmatic and has emphysema.

What I'm trying explain/describe is how the paint flows from the can. :silly2:

Don't diss on model masters! Testors you can diss on, but model masters is significantly better!

In certain cases, model masters makes colors that testors doesn't make, and also the same for Colors by Boyd.

Just be sure you know you're dealing with enamels, compared to lacquers of Tamiya. Enamels require longer to harden and will still be soft when fully cured.

Sorry sydicate, your right.

I remeber that camaro you painted, nice shiny and smooth, with model master.

But IMO I think it takes practice and I think you might have to learn how to use enames paints, am I right?

I'm not so sure, I've only used boyd and testors. Tamiya is still the best. Boyd and Testors suck. But I also heard model master is part of testors? Right.

Yeah enamels definitely require a different technique. They tend to spray out thick and fast, and are more prone to collecting airbone dust. I can only get Tamiya sprays if I drive an hour, so I've been using testors/enamel sprays for the past 5 years or so.

Yeap, Model Masters, Testors, and Colors by Boyd are all the same. Only, it "seems" testors spray cans have horrible nozzles, while model masters have better ones.

I've used model master/ testors/ boyd since I started modeling about 12 years ago, granted the Boyd line wasn't out at that time, but now it's all I'll use, pitty it took 12 years to figure out a good technique.....

It doesnt matter what paint you use, it is possible to get a good result. you can get bad results with tamiya or testors line. or you can get good results.
