dealer nameplate

I just bought a used, red Grand Prix. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove those annoying, plastic dealer nameplate/advertisements stuck on the rear of the car without ruining the paint? Thanks.

My suggestion exactly. Get the sticky stuff really warm and wiggle the name plate around. Use a razor blade type scraper to cut it away if neccessary then use some adhesive remove or acetone to clean up the rest.

Re: dealer nameplate

I removed mine by simply sitting the car in the sun, with the sticker facing the sun, for about a hour. Then I just worked a corner of a each letter with my fingernail gently, so as not to scratch the paint. Once you get a corner up, I could just pull the rest of the letter right off. When I had the entire label removed, I used bug and tar cleaner on a rag and lightly rubbed the remaining adhesive off. Then I applied wax to the area since it probably hadn't seen any in awhile and the adhesive/tar remover may have removed some/all of the wax. The whole deal, minus the 1 hr waiting period, took about 15mins.
