Turbo problems <STOCK>91 eagle talon TSI

hi, i have a 91 eagle talon tsi, im gettin 8 psi to the floor in the morning when its cold and it takes about 20mins of driving then it finally shoots to 14 and fast, but it seems faster in the morning when i first start it and its faster at the 8 then at the 14 if this makes since lol, only thing is it runs great has the muffler right at the end of the downpipe, and a k&n filter other then that its stock and does 0 to 60 in 10.30 seconds isnt that bad? its an automatic
what should it do 0 to 60 in cause it says stock it shoul be 6.4 seconds or 7.1 er suntin around that range.

Do a boost leak test, and also do a tune up. Change plugs and wires if they haven't been done recently.

yea a 91 tsi should do 0-60 in about 7 seconds with A/T. Maybe add a bit more cause the motor is 17 years old. But ten is too much.

You should be able to hear it somewhat. Make sure to do a boost leak test. If you car is hitting 14psi and feels slow then you may have a boost leak causing the motor to run rich.

found the problem... platiums dont work for shit on the boosted 4g63... trash them for some NGK BPR7ES, unless you going to run high boost in the near future, i have heard good things about the NGK BR6ES... cap .028...

didnt even notice that... it doesnt look that bad IMO, if you could get it to fit better with some custom work from a body shop, that wouldnt be to bad at all... change those plugs and let us know how that helps...

Re: Turbo problems <STOCK>91 eagle talon TSI

I actually really like that front bumper on their. Get that side marker fixed and like they said trim it up a bit and it looks really nice with a very interesting little mod!

Re: Turbo problems <STOCK>91 eagle talon TSI

hmm not a very big fan of the blue on the interior it just doesn't seem to match very well and the contrast is too much and its too dispersed. But to each his own

looks like a chinese food over cooker (rice)

why did you go with the Platiums? the BY FAR best plug for this motor is between the NGK BPR7ES and the BR7ES... just FYI, if you turn up the boost, those plugs will misfire...

Re: Turbo problems <STOCK>91 eagle talon TSI

hey man i did not see a after market boost gauge. how are you telling how many pounds of boost. if it is off of the stock gauge then there is no telling how many pounds of boost you are running. long story short i had the same problem. the reason you car spools up boost quick when yoiu first starts it is because the differend weight in oil. then you first start it the oil is cold and there for less pressure on the turbine. oh and i bet your problem with the boost is you probley have a leak in the wastegate port. i had a old turbo in my first gen and when i replaced it i realized that the waste gate had a big ass crack inside it. my turbo was taking forever to spool up and my car was slow as shit. the best way to fix it is to replace the turbo or at least pool it off and see if it has a crack. once i replaced the turbo my car got fast as shit. oh at the auto first gens have a really smalll turbo its not the 14b so if you try and use a 14b or 16g then you will need new coolent lines.
