Unhappy anyone have problems with purolator oil filters?

i just got an oil change today and afterwards it felt like the car was heavier. somewhat like having 2 fat ppl inside (or 3 or 4 skinny ones) in the car. i put castrol syntec 5w-30 and a purolator filter. maybe the guy at the shop was an @$$hole and gave me the wrong number? i got a L14477. i don't know. if it comes down to it. i'll probably have to get a nissan one tomorrow. anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?

Don't have a reason to the heavy feeling you are experiencing, but get the OEM filter and throw that piece of &^%$ Purolator in the trash. You are much better off. There are a few threads here and a lot of info on SE-R.net regarding how bad the Purolator oil filters are.

Quickly:
The Nissan filter has oil pressure built up at startup and the filter paper used is of top quality. The Purolator has less paper inside and there is no pressure spring in it for startup.

Others here could give you more in depth reasoning. Mine is just a nutshell explanation.

Actually, it simply has an anti-drainback valve, but so do most aftermarket filers. For an interesting inside look into filters for the SR20......

Imagine this: I was looking for a Mobil1 filter, and the stupid guys at three oil-change stations said Mobil never produced oil filters. Damn, it almost made me print out Geo's link and stick it under their noses. Guess I'll be taking second best - OEM. *sigh*

That's the key word I was looking for. anti-drainback valve.

I wrote it so quick, I just put some non-tech wording in there. It sounded good at the time though. Hehe!

I'm trying to find Mobil 1 oil filters in Canada too. Might have to order a bunch from the states.

just got the OEM filter in, i never realized how much a little oil filter would change performance. now i'm feeling light as a feather, or at least as light as stock p10's get. i've read that the pureOne's and mobil1's are good, next to the OEM. But has anyone ever tried dynoing different oil filters? i'm sure someone has. i just wanna see some results.

Oil filters shouldn't affect hp at all, only how clean the oil stays. The only way i could see it affecting hp is if it blocks oil flow altogether...?
Am I missing something?

Huh?

I get them at the local dealer for $5.50. If I buy three, I get them for $5.05 a piece.

I know it's only like .50 - .95 cent savings, but she works there. You should see why they aren't like $4.98 or less. (That's like 20% off of $6)

Just a thought!
