Timing problem S-10 ???

Hi I have 1990 Chevy s-10 with 195,000 miles on it and it is in great shape but the other day I was leaving work and she stopped running. I had this problem before and it was a fuel relay but this time that was not the fix. I am getting fuel so I think it may be a timing problem now. after I got it towed home I did get it running for a while as long as I held the gas pedal down when I left off it would stall. I changed the plugs, wires, distributor, cap and rotor, ignition modual (was on the new dist) new coil. Now it won't start at all I checked it while it was TDC and it looks like I did everything right. I am now thinking a timing chain?? Could this be the problem and is the anyway to know without removing the cover?? When I try to start it now it just turns over and over?

Re: Timing problem S-10 ???

hope you found the problem already,if not, remove the #1 plug and tap the key untilll you feel compression from the plug hole( if someone turns it by hand for you while your finger is over the hole it's easier).the timing mark oncrank pulley should be close and the rotor should be pointing at #1 on the cap.
I'm assuming you verified spark at the plug
let me know the final, i've got a 93 blazer with 235,000,only on the computer sparatically becouse it's so slow.
