Re: aftermarket cd player problems
Chrysler uses the Power Antenna lead to raise the antenna (if the car is so equipped) and also turn on the Infinity Amp in the trunk when the radio is switched on.
Some of the newer aftermarket head units have two remote wires, one wire is for a Power Antenna (Normally a blue or blue/white wire), and the other is for an Amplifier Remote Wire (unsure of color but check your installation manual for the correct colors of both of those leads). The Power Antenna wire is only active if the Head Unit's Radio is in operation, but when you switch the Head Unit source to CD, it cuts power to that lead (Lowers the antenna) since the radio is not needed. The Amplifier switch lead is live all the time the Head Unit is in operation and drops only when the Head Unit is turned off. In your case you followed the instructions and connected Power Antenna wire where the harness connection instructions said to, no foul there, you simply need to remove the Head Unit's Power Antenna lead from the Harness Connector and tape it off and then connect the Head Unit's Amplifier Remote wire in it's place and your good to go. Caution: never connect both the Power Antenna and Amplifier Remote wires to a single Harness Connector connection, you can damage the Head Unit.
