Integra LS shake the box build.

I work at a Honda dealership, so I see a lot of Hondas, and many of the techs there have cool Hondas. I was inspired by one of my fellow techs' friend's cars to build the Fujimi Integra kit. This was a simple build, merely inspired by the car. I really liked the combination of the wheels, color, window tint and JDM front end that all came together to make a sleek little Integra that looked oh so sexy. I just wanted to capture the look, so I didn't go into any great details like the turbo LS motor, the interior, the Integra sedan rear door handle on the passenger side (very clean lock delete idea), or the cool Honda Access body kit. I did use the Fujimi lip spoiler which I painted semigloss black just to balance the blacked out windows and wheels. The wheels are some resin cast Mugen RNR, painted black with the red lip (yum!) and the window tint is Tamiya smoke; if you put it up to the light the coverage is terrible and splotchy but it looks good on the shelf. Paint is some Duplicolor touch up from the spray can and the clear is, too. Hope y'all like it. Comments, pointers, tips welcome but I'll never do panel lines, kthx.

The real car:

It's very windy here today. So windy in fact, that a gust blew over the vending machine! Oh no! Fortunately the machine missed the car, otherwise the owner would've been very upset (my photojournalist staff isn't insured )

Re: Integra LS shake the box build.

The car looks sweet (I especially like the headlights), and I continue to admire your diorama/backdrop, even during these "Day After Tomorrow" type storm winds.

Good work (and I never do panel lines either).

Re: Integra LS shake the box build.

that background makes the cars look real.

My mom works at a honda dealership in Houma, LA and there is this modified accord that belongs to a tech. I plan to make a 1:24 scale version soon.

Hey Will, you forgot the panel lines again.

Nah, terrific work as always, man!! You wouldn't happen to have another set of those RNRs for sale now would you?!

Hi Willimo, you captured the look'n'feel of the inspiration car perfectly.
Nice and sleek... not "ricey" at all

You caught the look of the original perfectly. Nice one

Looking at the reference photo, it looks as if they didn't do the panel lines on the 1/1 either

Thanks guys. Simple build but I'm pleased with how it came out.

No such luck. I should've made copies of the copies. As it is, I already scavenged these off of the green EK Civic I shook the box for a while ago. I like this car much better, though, so they'll probably stick. If I had a set, Tonio, I'd give 'em to ya. You've helped me out a ton already.

That's always been my contention

Re: Integra LS shake the box build.

Looks great; the only thing spoiling the model vs. the 1:1 is the Fujimi kit glass that's not nearly as flush...but that's a problem on a lot of older kits.

Panel lines? Hey, can't see 'em much in the 1:1 photo, so the model matches it perfectly in that regard too.

Honda tech? I guess you guys are happy that Hondas aren't as bulletproof anymore vs. the good old days My friend just spent well in excess of $600 on airbag issues on his '05 Accord...

Not really, most of the work ends up being warranty work (Honda is good about honoring warranties and often extends warranties on things like transmissions, emissions, and computers) and that only pays about 75% of a customer pay. In any case, we find the real problems creep in around government mandated safety and emissions equipment, and (I hate to say it) things that were assembled in the U.S. Still pretty stout cars, though.

Looks good Will. Maybe you should come on over to the dark side, I work for Chrysler and we have lots of customer pay work.
