ZC worries

ok, my plans are to get a zc motor from www.hmotorsonline.com. my questions is if i do buy from there what will i have to do to get the motor ready to be installed in my car? do i basiclly have to do a total rebuild or what?? is it even worth getting the zc? i know alot of you are going to say sohc vtec but i just don't want to go that route cause i can never find a cheap one. there is one on that website but it says 1.5 vti. whats up with that motor??

since you've got an si, its pretty much plug and play...you only have to do a simple little plug change on the distributor.

as far as the engine rebuilding..that's up to you..most dont..most just change tbelt, water pump, etc...

Mainly the timing belt and the water pump. I would also upgrade your clutch cause sometimes you get bad ones. LIke my b16

hey man,

Well Since I work at Advance Auto Parts I bought a high performance clutch from them and I'm very happy with mine, it will run you around 280-300 but if you can find someone to give you there discount its like 250. So I would buy one I couldnt be more happy buying it. Here is what I bought and installed on mine, timing belt, water pump, distributor cap and rotor button, plugs and wires, clutch, resurface flywheel, axel seals, thermostat, all fluids:antifreeze, oil, transmission fluid, oil filter. Buy your waterpump from Honda I paid $46.91 and timing belt 26.63. Thats just some stuff I have on file from my swap.

I strongly recomend putting at least a timing belt and water pump on it before it goes in your car. It could and probly will save you so much money in the future.

get a new clutch also, its so simple and cheap to do if the engine is out of the car, but once the engine is installed its a bitch!!

Here be the deal home fry... I got my ZC torn apart I got mine from Hmotors... They are verry reliable and the motor I got is in good condition I should have just slaped it in (Once seing the internals there cant be more than 35,000 on it) But I somehow convinced myself to build the piss out of it... Now I got a motor thats torn apart and I got no manual for it... THIS SUCKS!
