Civic HX CVT engine

Does anyone know if the Civic HX CVT engine is made to run in cold weather climate. I live in Michigan and have been told that there will always be a problem with the belt because it is not made for cold weather.

It's possible, but I haven't myself heard anything about that. In fact, I don't even recall my Civic manual mentioning about CVT tranny and cold climates.
