Plastics for Lacquer thinner...

Well since theirs lack of information in this area as to what u can put lacquer thinner in... heres a little more info.

I recently went to walmart and found some cheap disposable storage thingies like tupperwear to put parts in and car bodies for it to dry.
Last night I put some lacquer thinner in it and tested to see if it would melt through and the results are, it held up!

The plastic has a PP symbol on it, i'm not too sure what it stands for. So in addition to the LDPE and HDPE, this stuff works good too..

This plastic is often found in plastic tupperwear for storing sandwiches etc...

on a side note, got some Alclad Aluminum and i must say the Gunze Sangyo Super Fine Silver looks as imperssive as the Alclad!

Maybe it's Polypropylene? Heck I don't even know if that's a plastic, just the first thing that comes to mind when Ithink of PP.

So where do you get all your Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color lacquer paints? Got an online store, or is it local?

Dagger, i was thinking Polypropelene too makes sense...

i just order from japan, i don't believe anyone in canada sells the Lacquer stuff. I've only seen and heard about the Hobby Color Acrylics and some Surfacers in spray cans..

There are a few places in the states though.. but it's cheaper from japan and plus i order a bunch too!

Guys,

Polypropylene is am man made wool like fibber that is very good at keeping you warm even when wet, it is used in out door clothing, not plastic Tupperware for storing sandwiches etc...

Just thought you would like to know!

P.S. I have no idea what PP stands for when it is printed on plastic containers......... I keep my lacquer thinner in a glass bottle I got from my local pharmacy.
