hobby search issues...

On December 12th, i ordered from Hobby Search. Still, it has not arrived. When i went to their website tonight, it doesnt load up. I really, i mean REALLY need their contact phone number to call and bitch about my stuff. Does the site work for any of you? If so, could you post the phone # for me? Any comments or suggestions would help too. Thanks.

if you choose SAL, expect 1-2 months from HS.
don't know why, maybe their packages are inspected by customs?

it took 1 1/2 months for me to get my package from them but it was sent out the day they told me.

It took 1 month for the HS order to arrive. Strangely, it took 1 week for the Hobby World order, which I made on the same day, to arrive. go figure. Try to be patient, that's all I can tell, though I know it's hard to just calmly wait for the order to arrive

Hobby Search FAQ says:
--------------------------------------------------
- In case that you don't get your items, which you already ordered.

Usually, if you live in Asia, you get your items within 1 week.
If you live in North America or Europe, you get it within 4 - 6 weeks.
If you want to know more information. Click here.
If you have waited at least until 2 months the usual amount of time shown above table, All the same you don't receive it.
Please tell us about it writing your name, ordered items, the date you ordered, and the order No.
Also, in case that you don't receive the items you reserved, despite it already has released. Please give us mail.

It may be thought the following case, despite you get shipment notice from us, and the items have not arrived.Because;

a. Your items is just late.
b. Your address is wrong.
c. The post office kept it because of any reasons.
We want you to check the EMS, tracking page to see where it is, and try asking your local EMS office with your tracking number to get a solution directly. That is much faster than contacting us.
Or, check to make sure that the shipping address you sent to us is correct. Second, if you've moved recently, make sure you left a forwarding address with your previous post office. If all of these steps fail to turn up your package, then please send us E-mail.
--------------------------------------------------

You can also check the status online.
But personally, how could an SAL takes 1.5 mo? I mean, I've received and sent more than 100 packages by SAL between Tokyo and Kansas, and none of them took more than 2 weeks. Some took longer to Europe, and definitely takes longer to Italy for some unknown reason.
I don't know how frequent the flight is to Island, though.

Anybody, who got SAL from Hobby Search, does it really say SAL?
I mean a check box is marked so, and has a white on green sticker, saying SAL?
They might screw up, and send a package by surface all the time without knowing it, since 6 weeks to north america by surface makes more sense than by SAL.

Hiro!

my package was SAL from hobby Search... it took 1.5 months. it has the green sticker on the package.

The only other reason i can think of as to why their SAL takes so long is that maybe they don't ship it out when they say.. but instead they wait a few weeks??

Check the circular stamp. It's the day the post office receive the package.

If SAL indeed takes 1.5mo to Canada, the only reason I can think of is, that there isn't enough traffic between Japan and Canada to fill a cargo, and SAL packages just sit at the Tokyo International dispatch hub for a few weeks. That s***s really bad.

But, if you don't choose UPS, but use SAL, does HLJ package arrive faster than Hobby Search? That should tell, who's screwing up people.

> RyanGiorgio
SAL stands for Surface Air Lift(ed). It's treated as a surface mail, except it's carried to the destination country by air.
How it works is it's essentially the 2nd class air mail. They fill a cargo with the 1st class air mail, and put SAL in the open space, if there's any.
So, if you are lucky, you get SAL in 5 business days or so, but this happened to me only once. (shipped on Mon Japan time, received on Friday noon in Kansas.)

Hiro, here is the picture of the stamp

the top 824g is the shipping rate, but i can't make out the number bellow it.. it seems to be 980 but i don't know what this would mean..
nothing else on the package shows the date. There's a red Stamp over the SAL saying cleared customs.

I ordered a SAL package from HLJ at same time as HS, and HLJ shipped about 2-3 days earlier.. but arrived within 2 weeks of dispatch...

I ordered a few SAL packages from R10 and those packages arrived within 2 weeks as well..

I can't use UPS from HLJ because i'm in canada, but HLJ will arrive within 2 weeks!

Most likely i think HS is not sending out packages on the days they say.. instead maybe just keep them in the warehouse until they have enough orders to ship out, i dont' believe it's the traffic between canada and japan because my other SAL packages will arrive very fast..
