Tach stays at 500 rpm
Just bought a low mileage 94' 325iC. Car runs great but the tach stays at 500 rpm, with occasional jumps to 1000. Using the reset test, the guage sweeps normally up and back. I also checked the connection on teh back of teh instrument cluster without change. the seller claimed that the tach worked until after a new stereo was installed. Any thoughts?
Thanks. Michael [email protected] or mjposner @warddamon.com |

Don't like tachs? Why? I prefer to look at that instead of the speedo. Maybe you have an automatic which means the tach is decoration for the most part.
