I haven't fiddled with carpet yet. Is it the powder fluff stuff?

Yeah, it sticks on thin cement layer.

What kind of glue are you supposed to use? I heard 3M makes a spray adhesive that works okay for that.

What colors does it come in?
tan but maybe another choices exist

instruction tells to use it with glue for clear parts

Matching paint can also be used for an adhesive for the product but get it on before the paint sets up.
A kitchen strainer (for straining orange juice or the like) is the best way of spreading it,put it in the strainer and tap the strainer and it should come out evenly.
