Question Question Question

This is the big question that i've thought up for a while. Has anyone taking their car model painting/bodykit skills and used them on a real car? Has anyone ever made a body kit out of automotive Putty? It seems to me, that if can get good at model car building, painting, etc. , then i will be able to paint my real 1:1 car when i turn 16... Just a thought i had

I havent done any body modifications, but I did strip the paint and repaint the front and rear panels and some of the trim on my Camaro with spray cans. It took longer and required more manual labor, but was easier than a model in my opinion because the canvas is so big. I am considering painting the whole car with spray cans, wet sanding it, and buffing it out to a show car finish all for less than $200. I figure it is only 12 times bigger than this Camaro which I painted with less than one can :

Glass fiber and resin would be better for a large body work, but I have used the same bondo putty for my models and my 1/1 car. I fixed a dent on the rear fender, and filled a rust hole with glass fiber and resin. I also used Dupli-Color to paint the front fender and engine hatch.
Pictures show the in-progress stage of the repair.
