Virtually same car runs 1.1 seconds faster than me. Cat questions
My friends car: 90 integra LS with AEM intake, short shifter, generic muffler off ebay, no catalytic convertor, stock tires on stock 14" hubs
My car: 91 integra GS with generic intake, generic muffler off ebay, high performance tires on 15" gsr rims He runs a 15.4, I run a 16.5. wtf? I know that he took off his cat and i still have mine, but would it really make more than a second of difference? Another question, if i took off my cat, what would go in its place, some piping ? Also, if I took off my cat, would that lower my back pressure even more and reduce my torque. Also, does getting headers reduce back pressure and reduce torque also? |

Well, the lack of a cat(or the fact that yours might be blocked) plus the short shifter could speed him up/slow you down. How much more do the GS-R rims weigh than his? that could be part of the problem, rotational mass plays big part in acceleration.
Then, no offense or anything, but he might just be a better driver than you. Were these times with the same driver or were you driving your car and he driving his?

maybe..
He was driving his, i was driving mine. He might be a better driver, but im damn fucking fast at shifting, whenever someone drives with me for the first time they're like "hot shit dude you shift fast"
oh and a question about the short shifter, a friend of mine says you have to live up your car and take off your exhaust system and drop out the linkage from underneath the car to put on a short shifter |
