Lancia Stratos Question
I have been collecting reference material for quite some time in preparation for building my Hasegawa Stratos rally car, which I started a thread on some time ago after I scratchbuilt the Dino engine. I have a question about one of my pictures. I've already posted in a Stratos forum about this but I figured I might as well run it by you guys, too.
Here's the pic (the Stratos forum has pics disabled) ![]() The part circled in green is my question. It looks like some kind of pump, and has hoses attached, but what in the world is it for? I don't know if anyone can help, but thanks in advance for any and all assistance. Alex |

Re: Lancia Stratos Question
Looks like a fuel pump to me... The lines feeding it are way too thin for it to be a coolant pump of any sort.

Re: Lancia Stratos Question
That sounds VERY reasonable and may well be correct--however, it looks too big for an electric pump yet is not attached to the engine, as with a mechanical pump. Perhaps it's just a large electric pump?
Thanks! Alex |

Re: Lancia Stratos Question
I just received wonderful assistance from the Stratos forum and learned that this is indeed one of two fuel pumps. It seems that I will be able to get all the help I need there, so expect to see me progressing on this build during Christmas and summer. Thanks for the help here!
