I am having a huge problem with my car. I just bought myself an 1984 BMW 318i and the problem started minor, but soon got large. First of all it would flood itself when you put the pedal to the floor when the car was driving. It would die instantly from there and would take alot of coaxing to get it going again. (removing fuel hose from cold start injector to allow the pistons to clear themselves from any excess fuel, as we weren't sure how to stop the fuel pump).
Then the problem worsened and the car would die for no reason at all in normal driving. Me and my friend figured that the Air Flow meter is the problem, but we are not sure, as we don't know much about BMW's. The car will not run at all. It will run for a few seconds from whatever fuel the cold start injector pumped into the engine and then die. I must mention that i did take the air flow meter off (but not apart!!) and looked at the door inseide and the door looked bent, i tried to carefully straighten it out, but that did not help any, nor do i think it worsened it.
If anyone can help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate it. Serious inquiries can contact me at

Thanks.
Also, is there any air flow meters i can swap from another car/series to improve performance, etc, anything?
thanks.
