Fujimi Porshe 911s 1969

Hi all, can anyone tell me if the kit pictured below is the fully detailed model from the enthusiast series or is it a curbside?, I'm hoping its the ES.
Should be with me in a few day's.
Also anything I should look out for when building the kit

Gary

Re: Fujimi Porshe 911s 1969

after just building a kit similar(the 85 Carrera) they are fun to build, but one word of advice, test fit EVERYTHING, these are great kits, but they require some finesse when building. I'd recommend against the opening front trunk since that causes some fit issues with the body. Last thing is the ride height on these is high, I tried to remedy that by using the top most hole on the the brake mounting points as the bottom mount, and drilled a new hole up higher to lower them(when you see the instructions you'll understand what i'm talking about), click on the pic in my sig for the finished thread of my kit, and here is the wip thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=720200

Good luck with your build, and be sure to post pics

Thanks for the advice, Ive heard that these are a challenge to build, but that's what modelling is all about, the tip on the ride height is great as well, yours looks fantastic .

The earlier kits also have a little bit of accuracy issues as the early 911's were shorter overall than the laters. They are nice kits though with excellent detail. With just a little bit of wiring like adding spark plug wires and the fuel injection, you can make the engine stand out. If you are into these Porsche kits, get the book, the Porsche 911 Story. You can probably get it for less than the price of a Tamiya kit, and it has so much information and detail of all the street and some race 911's.

1969 was the first year of the longer wheelbase, so this kit is correct in that regard. Also, the overall length did not change because of the longer wheelbase, they just moved the rear wheels back. You can easily tell the difference by looking at the distance from the rear jacking point to the wheel opening. On the early cars, they are quite close together. the engine and transaxle position stayed the same, they simply angled the axle shafts rearward.

Then it is the '67 I was thinking of. It has been a while since I read that book, lol. I knew it was just the wheelbase, but the holes for the rear suspension arms are a dead giveaway. Overall they are great kits. I just wish they would have put the exhaust that was in the '67 in all of the kits. That would sure make it easier to do some racing versions.
