Question Header 4-1 or 4-2-1

I have one qustion for you
Which one of that header is better for racing and to get more HP and why is that, I'm thinking a lot of that now I've allready ordered a 4-2-1 racing header for my D16 engine but next year I'm think about nasty swap (combnation of b20 and b16) and I want to know which header could I buy then, the car will be used for daily use and for drag races...

So which one is better 4-1 or 4-2-1 and WHY ???

Thnx for all your answers :flash:

4-1 header: Great top end power at the expense of low end power.

4-2-1 header: Great midrange and low end...basically a good overall header.

I would go for the 4-1 design if you are looking for the most power.

I agree with 91zc. If anything if you're goin for a b-series swap go for the JDM headers! Thats what i'm gonna get pretty soon! Dc sports JDM headers are one of the top best! I think they tested 10 headers and they came in 3rd? I forgot the other 2 but i'll have to ask my friend cause he's the one who told me this.

I love my kamakaze 4 -1 header. Only if it were not all mashed up.

Call me crazy, but if he's gettin a B16A, which has good top end power but bad low and mid-range power, wouldn't he want the headers that'll help with the lows and mid, since thats the weakness. I dont really know, just a thought, but then again, i am just a poor dumb white boy redneck .:frog:

Like i said before JDM headers make the most power. Its between mid to high range but i think u'll lose some torque....it just really depends on ur set up.

I was thinking this too. I mean, with a B16 you have good top end so it would be logical to say 'improve the thing you are good at' but on the other hand it would also be logical to say 'the low and mid are weak so make them a little less weak'
Both have their advantages I guess..

I lik'm both. For racing usually the 4-1...even though the 4-2-1 can give you the midrange to get outta corners a little faster. Also 4-2-1 are probally a little better for daily driving. But again for racing i'm gonna say my 4-1 has treated me real good hehe.

I've read that in our 4cyl with mild mods the 4-1 gives as much everywhere if not more than a 4-2-1, so get a nice 4-1, you'll get more power overall, and won't lose any low-mid.
