80's covers

Just sitting here watching Disturbeds DVD and currently listening to their cover of Shout. I have begun to wonder what over 80's "classics" (and I use that term loosely) have been covered by hard rock or metal groups etc.

so far all I have is:

Marylin Manson - Soft Cells "tainted Love"
Disturbed - Tears For Fears "Shout"
Limp Bizkit - George Michaels "Faith"
Orgy - New Order "Blue Monday"

any others?

They do punk covers. One of their albums has Neil Simon, Kenny Loggins, John Denver, Neil Diamond and Elton John, another has Cat Stevens and Beach Boys and the third has Muppets, Evita, Phantom and Cabaret Stage Show Covers.

Not quite 80s but very close...

Then Reel Big Fish(I know not metal) did covers of "Hungry like the Wolf" and "Take on Me", they were pretty cool.

Fear Factory covered Gary Numan's Cars... a cool tune, Gary Numan even did guest vocals in it. (click on the link to check out the video at launch.com)

even tho Cars isnt exactly an 80s tune.. 1979 is close enough tho

Manson also did the Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams", I'm sure you knew that, but you didn't have it written there, so I thought I'd mention it

I love disturbed's cover of "Shout"!!! Have you heard their new album yet? It's pretty good... different than "the Sickness", but it's good!

Powerman 5000 also did a cover of "Let the Good Times Roll" by the Cars.

David Bowie did a cover of Simple Minds "Don't you (forget about me)"

Save Ferris did a cover of a Dexies Midnight Runners song called "Come on Eileen"

Incubus did a cover of "No Scrubs", I think was originally done by Destiny's Child, but that's not 80's...

Biz Markee did a cover of "Benny & the Jets" by Elton John.

Shoot... If I was at home with my CD's (600+ of them), I could think of ALOT more...
