Question What engine for a 96 Integra?

Looking into completly redoing a 96 integra after I sell my Mustang. I can't decide what motor to put in. I like the Spoon b18C long block I found, it produces 210 Hp, but you can't add a trubo, I was looking to go turbo or all motor. Opinions and suggestions? Thanks

Josh

Did research last night and found out I don't want a spoon, maybe a Mugen though, or Just a plain old B16b VTEC? ANd then maybe a Drag III turbo kit? Help

If you're gonna turbo you don't want anything with high compression ... stick with a B18C1(GSR) or if you really want go with an H22(Prelude)

Ok Any idea where i can get a motor, new? I contacted King Motorsports and they said they could send me a new JDm B18C with all harnesses and stuff for 6 grand, is that a good price? What do I need to do to make it turbo read, forged kit and stuff, ported head and intake, etc. Thanks'

what motor is in your integra now? A friend of mine has a 97 Integra LS with a Greddy turbo kit on it, upgraded pistons, rods and the car runs mid/high 12s with his wife driving it at the track. This is his daily driver to and from work everyday 50 miles round trip. I dont think thats bad at all. I would estimate he has about $5000 in his setup.

I don't have the integra yet, I am going to get one when i sell my mustang. I am going to have to buy a new motor, and fix it up, cause i can't have the down time of having my motor out cause i will be carless. Then if my motor is worth a damn, i will sell it or fix it up and sell it. yeah i want a turbo and stuff, but i will prob piece together my own kit.

I think you should take things one step at a time ... worry about getting yourself an Integra first ... depending on what platform you want to start with, purchase yourself an LS or GSR integra ... from there you already have the motor in the vehicle and you have no need performing a swap ... from there you can worry about your turbo after ... good luck

Here's the deal, I am not going to use the engine it comes with cause i will have to drive the car, so i am buying a new one. I am trying to do research first to see if i want an integra first. If i can't find enough info I am getting a Camaro SS. Thanks for the reply.

You can never do a Turbo on like an Integra Type R motor or anything with high compression... My chocice would be to go with an All motor Setup or maybe even get a B16A2 and turbo that... I think you would be better off though getting a B18C1 and going All Motor...

Stay away from Spoon and Mugen engines, unless you got bank, not only are they expensive, but they are meant for all race and thats about it. They constantly have to be rebuilt, and unless you got bank; you probably wont be driving it long.. I got some peeps than can hook you up, go to SUHA and ask for Scotty, and tell him Jason his Kutsuju Racing buddy sent you.. He will take care of you get you something good. And he'll get you the best price on whatever you decide....

in importtuner it had a integra with a B20Z head CRV engine and like a B16block. Probaly because the B20Z had more torque than hp
