90% complete Lotus Esprit Turbo

and yet another nearly finished one from me.

again, box stock with a few wires and hoses added to the engine.
the engine here is a strange one looking like a cross between a regular 4-pot esprit with the early carb set up but with the induction kit of the later turbos.

chassis sits a bit low with the effect of making the car seem too high off the ground.
body isn't perfect here as it was a kit i bought cheap that had the body liberally coated in enamel which i sanded down as much as I could. A few other errors in the paint work around the edges too but this was a test kit for me as I hear lots of problems. Got another one of these planned for the future to do properly.

Re: 90% complete Lotus Esprit Turbo

Looks good. I assume this is the old monogram kit? I have the same kit sitting in my stash of kits to build. I have heard other complaints about the car seeming to sit too high. Could you show us a shot of the body sitting on the chasis to get a better idea of the ride height? Again, the body looks perfect to me. The panel lines seem to be just right.

Oh man, 90% syondrome- I freakin hate 90% syndrome!

Sweet looking Lotus! If that's the old Monogram, it looks pretty well detailed. The body looks spectacular. Time to get this one done.

so.... how are those Ferrari coming along?

and yes, this is the old monogram "US version" kit.
I'm impressed with the detail in it and am loving the completely separate chassis.
the body's not as good as it looks and there are patches where the paint "bubbled" due to bad spray; you'll see it later when i get more pics of this one.

I don't know what you're talking about, but from the pics posted, the body looks really nice! Cool, kit, I wish a Tamiya level company built an Esprit kit, I love that car, especially the V8.
