Anybody have a GT-40?

I was curious if anyone here has a Revell GT-40. I was thinking of buying one, and I wanted to know if they have engines or not. Thanks. These are the ones I am talking about.

No engines with those, they are reboxed Fujimi kits. Someone somewhere does offer a resin engine kit for it, at least for the latest retool of the Fujimi kits.

I guess by "someone somewhere" you have no idea who sells it? oh well, I'm probably going to buy those to anyway, they are a lot cheaper than any other place that sells them.

You could try looking up Thunder Valley Miniatures. They used (many moons ago) to do resin an metal kits for the Fujimi/Revell GT40s that included engine and rear end detail as well as alternate bodies. Don't know if they are still going or a web site for them though. I'd try Google.com.

Hope that helps.

Yes, that was very helpful. Thunder Valley Miniatures They have a conversion kit for the GT-40, but $105. That's a little to much for me right now. Although if you look at it, 60 pieces, the body with a opening rear end...sounds good, but too much.

Thanks for the info lotus!

I can think of two places to pick up a GT 40. Two Guys Racing has a Goldline resin kit for around 115 dollars. It's a fully detailed kit, but it's not an easy build. It is a real beauty, though. The other downside is that Two Guys never answer their phones, respond to emails or respond to any order promptly. It took me almost 6 months to get mine from them!

Also Internethobbies.com has a selection of four Fujimi kits. Two of them the Gulf #6 and #9 have fully detailed engine bays. They are rather comparable to any Tamiya model in my opinion. The big plus here is that they are only around 30 dollars. I own the #6, but have not put it together.

Hope this helps,
Michael

Two Guys Racing just got a ton of orders out recently. I know...I helped fill them for the Wayne Webbers, the primary owner. Great stuff, admittedly he is hard to reach sometimes...he's our ACME club newsletter editor. He's getting things better organized so the wait times are more reasonable. The last batch of orders went out w/apology letters and a 20% discount. Some stuff is backordered. Don't count 'em out, they're still in it for the long haul. And man...you should see the stockroom! Drool.

Well I can get the two in the pic above for 20 bucks or so. I think I'll just buy these, and if I want one with an engine, I'll get a Fujimi kit. Thanks for your help guys.

Nick
