Cat-Back Exhaust: Bolt-on vs Welded
Hey, I'm looking into getting a Skunk2 exhaust very soon and I had a few questions about them:
1) are they bolt-on exhausts? 2)if they are, can you still weld them on? 3)do welded exhaust get more horsepower and/or sound better? Please lemme know, cause Im hoping to get this in like a week or two. Thanx in advance

I'd go bolt on, in case some thing breaks or if you change your mind/set up, you can easily replace em and not wait for a welder...:flash:

ONe more thing...you need that extra flex that bolts offer to keep your exhaust intact, especially on the flange. Welding that is a no-no...

weld it!!! even if there is a flange..have them cut it off and weld it.....this way you have no leaks any where

the flanges do not need to be welded
if must add piping any place after or before the flange the weld it those spring bolts for the exhaust are $20 a piece from Honda |

Well IF skunk2 makes an oem style exhaust then go for it. I don't think they do ...does anybody know they make exhaust for our cars?

Yeah its the most expensive cost with some of the lower power gains. But it looks nice.

OK, now lets get technical. Do you guys know exactly how much horsepower the thermal, skunk2, and tanabe exhausts give. Cause on the Skunk2 site they said that their exhaust added like 8 hp on a 2002 Civic, and I figured that was a pretty good amount.
