Re: Pictures of your Cars

Its a great ride if you don't mind replacing tires every 16,000 miles I could probably get a lot more miles out of them, but what fun would that be?

It has 88,000 miles on it and this is its sixth set of tires. They are relatively new, so that averages out to about 17,000 per set. At approximately $170 per tire, that's a tire budget of $5000

The picture glamorizes it a touch. It needs some body and paint work. It was a PA car for its first 70k and I've noticed some little bubbles a couple places, but thanks for the kind words

lol, I was actually referring to your rims since I have the same ones on my truck. I do love B bodies though.

Re: Pictures of your Cars

Curtis you lucky dog!

I've been trying to find two of your cars for the longest time. I've wanted an SS since they came out. The closest I could manage to get my hands on was my 9C1 (far cry from an SS). Mind you, I'm very happy with it.

I've been searching for a '66 Bonneville since I was 12 years old. My father had a black one a long time back. Last time I checked there were only 6 of them up here in Canada... 5 if you didn't count the one my old man had, and that was about 14 years ago. I can only assume that there are less of them now. What's left of the old girl is sitting in a field with God knows what growing through it. What's the power plant in yours?

Thanks for putting up that pic... it certainly put a smile on my face

Re: Pictures of your Cars

I like 9C1s too. It's basically the same car as the SS, just beefier and uglier.
BTW, check out http://forum.4adrive.com/ if you haven't already.

Caddy 500, ported heads, polished chambers, Edelbrock intake, MTS cam, Jet-reworked Q-jet, and shaft rocker conversion, soon to have 1-3/4" headers

Here's a picture of the rear axle in the bonny: A GM corporate 14-bolt with 10.5" ring gear and full-floating axles. The front end has spindles from a one-ton pickup.

I just read last night that a cadillac 500 w/ an aluminum intake on weighs 50lbs more than a SBC.

According to this website, its actually about the same. I do know that I had to drop a lot of spring free-height when I switched over from my 700+ lb 389 to the Caddy.

I love it when people say that the Caddy 500 is a heavy waste of space. I just say; http://www.team.net/sol/tech/engine.html

High nickel block (bad for race, good for street), no need for a harmonic damper in stock trim, front mounted HEI, external oil pump, good aftermarket parts support, and HELLO... 500 ci !!

You can buy 1000-hp turnkey engines from companies like MTS and Cad Company
