Driving Tips for Dummies
1. When there are two left turn lanes at a traffic light it is not prudent, nor sane, to cut the turn short from the rightmost turning lane. Doing so is likely to scuff the paint on your vehicle at the very least.
2. If you do not normally slow down, let alone stop, for a right turn on red you may wish to consider doing so at least when another vehicle with the right-of-way is approaching the intersection 100 feet away at 55 MPH. He will be in the intersection in 3.23 seconds (do the math). If he is one of those rare, alert drivers he will have difficulty stopping in time; if he is a typical driver with his head in space, you are dead meat.
3. When the vehicle is in motion it is wiser for a driver to get directions from signs than from maps. Reading the signs will probably get you to your destination; reading the map will possibly get you to the hospital.
4. Your motorcycle could get bent if you try to use the shoulder to pass a vehicle making a right turn.
Number 3 seems farily good advice:alien2:
