gutted interior, all legal?

I have had my interior, carpet, trim, speakers, door panels, stereo, pass. seat removed for a while. I was wondering if its legal to have this stripped and is it required to have a passenger seat. If not then is it also legal to remove the passeneger seatbelt?

it should be all legal, but I dont think you can remove the pass seat belt weather or not there is a seat there cause it would be classified as messing with the safety equip.

Dont take my word as bond, This is just a guess on my part

You can remain fully legal with stripped interior. If you do not have a passenger seat you are not required to have a seatbelt there. You could get into trouble if you added a seat w/ no belts. 5-point harness is ok to use on street. Only things required is Speedometer, indicator lights for signals, seat, & seat belt. Dont forget about the pedals, shifter, & steering wheel. Can't go far with out those.

Also, if you're still concerned about any legallity issues, you can take your car to the state patrol headquarters and have them look at it.

I got pulled over with all that stuff out because I took the rear bumper off and forgot to put it back. Just made a quick run into the store.. Anyway, he didnt say anything about the interior, just said that I had to put the bumper back on.

I been driving with no interior for a few weeks. Going to Chicago today and dont have time to put it all in. Busy laying dynamat.
