Exclamation I seek the highest of JL Audio gods!!!

So this is the deal. I have a set of JL Audio XR400-CX 4" coaxials for the front door of my buddies car. I got them for $75 off of eBay. They go for $200+ retail. Now the rating on it is 40wRMS and it says it can handle anywhere inbetween 15-75wRMS of amp power. I also am thinking about getting TR650-CX which is a 6.5" coaxial for the rear deck. Now it is 50wRMS and it can handle 10-75wRMS amp power. Now my question was, if i had any amp that pumps out 75wRMSx4 do you think the speakers would hurt at all???? You know how some amps put out more than the birth sheet says so i mean if they were actually putting out like 80wRMSx4 do you think the speakers would hurt? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANKS ALOT!!!

I think you should probably be fine and just get JL's 300/4. 75x4 rms. To be safe just call up JL and ask them. They'll tell you straight up if your speakers will handle it or not. Their 15w3 is only recommended like 400watts but they'll tell you to give 1000 all day long...

hell yea. i've seen people zap close to 1600watts and they handle it like nothing!

anyways..i guess those JL audio speaker can handle 80 watts. hell..my old pioneer is rated at 20 watts RMS and i sent them 50 watts RMS with the gains half way playing all frequencies.
