nitrous?

not going to net higher hp but the most noticeable thing is usually gears, a nice set of 3.73s; some underdrive pullies; an off-road midpipe maybe depending on emissions in your area; and something to bump the timing a little are some of my favorites. but ive only owned modular engine mustangs so i dont know if they have a timing adjustor for the 5.0 or not

Re: what will give me the highest hp gain for the cheapest price

Since he has exhaust and air intake upgrade, I'd go with the gears like 6speed said. If it's not his daily driver forget the 3.73's. I'd go with the 4.10's. It's not going to increase his RPM's that much at 65MPH, only about 200 more. But, if it is his daily driver then go 3.55's or 3.73's. If he drives it in the winter, I'd say forget it and leave the stock gears in it.

Also like 6speed said, bump the timing!! My 89 and 92 were up to 14 degrees. I had no problem with pinging, and I always ran 92-93 octane. You could go 15-16 but you may get some pinging and you won't notice that much difference with 2 degrees. Keep it safe at 14.
