97 to 99 front end conversion??

ok i have a 97 civic. and i can't get over the fact of how much nicer the 99 front end is. the headlights are way better shaped, the grill is larger and the bumper is WAY more aggressive. so here's my question. would it be possible to convert the front end of my car to look like a 99? i realize this would require a few things but i'm not sure if it would work. here's what i got so far:

replace fenders
replace grill
replace headlights
replace hood
replace bumper

it seems too simple though. if it works, i would definitely do it. im not sure it would work tho. the 99 civic front end seems to be kinda longer in a way (if that makes sense). anybody know if the replacement parts would work?

You've got it. Just replace those parts and you're set. The 96-98 Civic are mechanically and structurally the same as the 99-00. The 99-00's front end is not longer.

Im glad that i found that out cuz i have a 98 coupe i just bought and the lenses are worn, cracks, and leaks. I came will close buying 99-00 headlights not knowing that they would not fit. I found some clear lenes for my ride not as nice as the 99-00 but they will do for now. When you finishing your conversion show a picture of your car.

Thumbs down Wait a minute,....

So your sayin' that since I have a 98 coupe, that my front end is different than a 99,... I don't think sooo,... As far as I know, they are virtually the same. The 99-00 si has a under spoier, and matching skirts (stock).
But a regular model ie: ex,lx,hx,---- doesn't have paint matched skirts, or an under poiler. That might be what you are talking about (longer than).

As far as I know the light fixtures of a 96-00 will fit a 96-00 civic, because the models are virtually the same...

I could be wrong

hate to burst your bubble but you are WAY wrong. i dont have any pics on the computer that im using right now but all you have to do is look at a 96-98 civic and a 99-00 civic. go park next to one and stand in front of your car or just look at my post earlier and you can see the different parts.

* 99-00 has a bigger grill than 96-98
* 99-00 headlights are more angular as opposed to the rounder 96-98 lights
* 99-00 front bumper is different (way better looking than 96-98)

and because the lights are different, you need a new hood and fenders.

i think you are confused with tail lights. 96-00 have the same tail lights. not headlights...

hence, why i made this post
