w.i.p. BMW 320i Turbo

While I'm building the Skyline R32 I started a new kitt.

This is the BMW 320i Turbo Rally from Revell, scale 1/25.

It's an old kitt so the decals aren't useable.

Also someone else started on this kitt And that's a pain in the hart I must say He al ruined everything. He glued almost everything together without painting the parts. And he had used too much glue

So I have tryed to peel of al the parts as possible and I will give this model a new life.

Here's an impression of the shit:

The wheels are also glued on the axles and I can't get them of So I used some more force and 1 wheel broke into 2 halves

Now I had to find some new wheels for it. I got some from the Skyline R32 and I think they look nice on the BMW. While I searched for wheels I also discovered a spoiler :P

But I don't know which colour I must paint te body..... Also the wheels must be an other colour.... Any suggestions?

And I need some pics of the engine but I can't find a good pic..

Kris.

Re: w.i.p. BMW 320i Turbo

sounds awful condition. but, you've done really good job so far. is this kit original issue of today's "tuner BMW"? I can see cool bucket seats. and R32 rims are really suits it. good idea.
color... if I'm assembling it, I'll paint it blue.
color choosing is one of the most fun part of modeling, I think
this gonna be cool! keep up the great work!

Good to see this getting built.
A dark metallic 'brick' red would suit it nicely.

Don't know if this is the Tuner BMW I think this BMW is older than the Tuner version.

But the wheels on the pics are too big. I think I'll use the original wheels.
This will be the street version of the 320i Turbo Rally without the decals :P

Re: w.i.p. BMW 320i Turbo

1st update

I painted the wheels.

First I made them chrome with Motip Chrome and than I painted the lower details flat black. After that I made the spokes gold.

I really like the wheels Look at them shining:

maybe you ask yourself ' Why does he painted the whole suspension system chrome???

Answer: because I can't get the wheels of it :P The where glued together :S

Re: w.i.p. BMW 320i Turbo

Today I wanted to do something on the engine. I begun to peel of the parts but I damaged one so I stopped.

There are so many gaps between al the parts so I have to putty it al.
Look what I mean:

While the putty had te dry I started on the chassis. The front was broken so I had to fix this. Some putty helped me

Then I painted the chassis Flat Black and started on the front and rear suspension systems and put the tyres on the wheels.

And as always I wanted to put the body on the chassis

The wheels comes very far out of the wheelbays but there comes a little bodykitt around the whole body so than the problem will be solved

Re: w.i.p. BMW 320i Turbo

I painted the interior yesterday. Everything is now flat black but I wil paint some alu and grey details.
I also added the interiorflocks (light grey)

The rollcage is painted in chrome and must dry for 2 weeks or longer.

While I had to wait I picked the body and added the sidepanelwiders (don't know how to say)

The engine is also painted. And the BMW logo is painted.
The engine is underwhile painted in a darker silver.

Look and you wil see

Hope to primer the body this week

Kris.

Restoring can be an arduous task. You're doing a splendid job. Keep it up! I'm really impressed with your ability to turn this thing around.

Re: w.i.p. BMW 320i Turbo

Finished the interior for the Beemer.

Only used some decals for some meters (speed) and a Fujimi racing steeringwheel.
