Re: Good Movie Editing Program

What sort of editing do you want to do? How good are you on computers generally?

Can your hardware support raw editing (ie. has a couple of hundred gb of free hard drive space, a very fast processor and a couple of gig of RAM)?

The answers to these queations will effect the recommendation.

I've got Studio 9, I like it but I'm not all that good with it.

Adobe Premier...if you can figure out how to use it.

Or just buy a DV iMac

Re: Good Movie Editing Program

I agree with toksin Adobe Premiere all the way... but its not that hard to figure out.

And as far as the mac PC thing. My 6 year old pc still runs better and faster than my brand new mac ever did with any graphic design/computer art programs. I think the whole macs are better for this stuff myth is spread by apple. I do love the mac for personal use(Tiger is friggen awesome) but for work I still go back to my PC. I recently decided to sell the mac and keep running my old PC despite the lack of eye candy.

Re: Good Movie Editing Program

I'm sorry I just feel the need to bring this up:

Anyway, the Adobe program is complex but it's powerful once you figure it out.

Re: Good Movie Editing Program

Search for Pinnacle or Avid. Great jobs are always available for Avid Video Editing Gurus.

Re: Good Movie Editing Program

Avid is by far the most superior and professional quality movie editing program out there. It's also the most expensive. If you want to go cheaper, but still retain professional quality, I've heard good things about Vegas.
