Well, too bad the Audi AG took over Lamborghini before the Canto was finalized, they completely dumped the styling of this prototype.
Only the V12 6-Liter engine with 600+ horsepower will remain, we'll have to wait until September to see the actual new Lamborghini model, and it will definately not be called 'Canto' according to Sant'Agata.

regards

I didn't like the styling. I think with Lambo that their cars look good originally, but after awhile they get old. I mean, the Countach was awesome when I was little, but looking back at it now, it's kinda ugly. I'm also getting tired of the Diablo already.

JD mentioned something about this once, and posted a pic of a 67(ish) camaro, how it was timelessly beautiful.

Talking about timeless beauty,

take a look at the Lamborghini Miura, this car from the Sixties is considered a true automotive masterpiece, an awesome racecar for road use.

I've never liked the headlights on the Miura.

I've never liked the Canto, big ass air intakes, looks like some heavily bodied Diablo, hellz no!

I'm not even sure of the current lamborghini prototype but it sure looks alot better and still looks like a Diablo.

I hope they'll be more original. :o

I actually kinda like it, even tho the oversized scoops are a bit controversial, it looks a lot like the bat mobile. From the side and from the rear it looks sooo hot.. but yeah I heard the whole thing has been scrapped. so let's wait and see Audi's designer gonna do

Lightbulb

I believe the pictures posted on the lambocars.com sight on July 26th and August 7th are NOT of the L147 (Diablo replacement/Canto), as suggested, but rather of the upcoming L140 (Jalpa replacement). For a picture of the L147 (from March of 2001), which can be seen in the latest issues of both Car & Driver and Automobile magazines, go to http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caran..._spyshots.xml.

VETTEMAN: I just checked out supply of pictures. The rear scoups really dominate the car but it has a 'Cutting edge' to it that at least shouts something special. Also Red car shots doesn't appear to have the huge air holes and looked a little more sleek that the others.
I know all the talk about this model not being availible but from the different cars/models shown there was a lot moneys tied up in this project...I would think something can and should be salvaged.
