Re: Aveo's!!!!!!

first of all, why the hell would you upgrade an aveo? thats like putting slicks on your metro.

as for reliability, youll have a waranty if you buy new, i dont think there is many owners here.

some people dont look at them from the physical point of view but from an economical point of view. you can get one for less then 10grand. they also are said to have good mileage. im not gonna lie, they are ugly but for my job i do atleast 25000 to 30000 miles a year. my current car is 12 years old with 125000 miles on it. GAS PRICES ARE OUT THE ROOF, MY CAR GETS ABOUT 20-22 MILES PER GAL. NOT BAD FOR A CAR THATS THIS OLD, BUT ITS JUST GETTING TO BE TOO MUCH. i cant afford to keep paying for tows when something breaks. GETTING YOUR CAR TOWED 50MILES IS ALOT OF MONEY, NOT TO MENTION THE REPAIRS. THE IS A VERY ECONOMICAL CAR IN MY OPINION. NOW, BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION - DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THESE CARS, PROS, CONS, RELIABILITY, ETC.........

Re: Aveo's!!!!!!

An aveo is a Daewoo, research it. Do you really want a Korean car? They suck, true they are great on gas milage but they won't last long, i owned two deawoos with the same 1.6 etech engine in them and they are nothing but trouble, they have little power and don't hold up. You might want to think about it a little more. They can be upgraded a little but the parts are hard to find because not too many cars use that engine, but you can custom an exhaust and an intake for a few hp, i mean a few. Well everyone is intitled to their own opinion though and i guess some people may like the aveos but daewoo must have went bankrupt for a reason??????? hmm.

We gave out a free Aveo at the company that I work for. Every year we have a drawing for a free car. We use the proceeds to go toward the Children's Miracle Network. We usually give out a Honda Civic. This year we had the Aveo. Nobody wanted to enter the drawing. Everybody laughed at it. People didn't like the fact that it "is" a Chevy but there is a big sticker saying over 90% parts made in Korea. Looks like we are repeating the same thing like Chevy did with Geo. Little shitty cars that Chevy takes over and ends up hurting their name. Although I must say that I still see old Metros running around but you don't see Daewoos lastig that long.

Re: Aveo's!!!!!!

my son got an Aveo a few months ago and it a perty nice car for $10,000 it has a little get up and go, its not no V-6 or V-8 but its ok. not sure what his gas mileage is. No problems yet, but for $10,000 drive it till something major goes wrong trade it in for another. You cant expect to much for that price.
As for the Chevy Geo. I had the Sprint when it first came out, the best little car I ever had. I drove the sh** out of it and never had to replace anything not even the clutch and it was still running strong with over 150,000 miles on it when my wife was rearended and totaled it out. I was still getting about 50 miles to the gal. with it

love my AVEO!

I have had mine since April it has over 6000 miles. no trouble hubby works for chevy dealer so i got it real cheap. Great on gas. the only things i can warn about is. Back seat belts changed there is a recall on 2 outer rear belts the retractors have problems. new one work great. rides good. not a sports car being i traded in the honda accord coupe i was use to but gets me where im going . no complaints here.. oh the trunk is huge and the car is suprisingly roomy.

Re: Aveo's!!!!!!

Dawoos have mad problems, especially with timing belts and radios. Most of the techs where i worked refused to work on them, because they werent GM vehicles, to proove the point, when challenged by a sales person about the bowtie on the hood, a tech took a screwdriver and ripped the bowtie off, and then asked the sales person to find a GM part on the car. I cant say anything from experience but believe me, knowning what money pits dawoo products are, i would never drive an aveo.
