ford transit pick up
Hi Everyone.
I could really us some reference photos of a real Ford Transit pickup of around 1980 vintage. I just bit the bullet and chopped up an Esci van with a view to fitting it with a wrecker body. I would be happy to post pics of the progress if requested. Any help would be cool and if you post a link to the pics. Thanks |

Re: ford transit pick up
First of all, welcome to AF!
Here is one of a a '79-'83 transit double cab wrecker: http://mobile.de/SIDg6lwYTHHFHj6MbIX...1111166940214& It's not too bad though, for 3900 euros. This one's a bit cheaper, and shows the rear bulkhead and the arrangement of the auxiliaries on the chassis. Don't worry about it being a mk I, everything from the a pillar back is the same as your '84 model www.marktplaats.nl on the home page select "auto's", then "oldtimers"(in the right column when you scroll down). In the query field (under "alles") type transit. Its the middle one of the five results("ford transit 150 bj '72 open laadbak"). Select and scroll down for photo's. And we would love to see some pictures.

Welcome!
Interesting project, I'm sure that a lot of AF members would like to see pictures of your conversion.

Hi Everyone
Thanks so much for your friendly welcomes, much appreciated! I could never bring myself to cut up my 'mint' Esci transit van, but scored one 80% complete and cheap from a trader site, It was badly assembled and was asking for the chop! I will post pics as the cab progresses, RallyFanatic, thanks for the link, I wish I had cut mine as a crew cab now! It's always the way 'eh. |
