That is why you let someone else go first! JohnR would proably go through that for us first!

DAMN!

How high did the water get inside? I'm thinking the ECM might have been at risk. How about the rest of the electricals, alternator, etc?

I see only his pant cuffs were wet. Who had the delight of hooking up the winch cable, seeing how it should have been his job? His seats were already plenty wet I'm sure.

Oh, what the hell was he thinking anyway?

One of these days I'm going to get a cheap set of hip waders to keep in the X just so I can check things like that out before hand.

Not that we get that much water out here in the desert.

Four XTerras ran this:

Luckily we all crossed there and back fine without any electrical or engine problems.

Lucky, lucky, lucky.....

A big differance about the water you went through Oz... It is clear (not silty or muddy) You will find that you don't get the same problems with that kind of water..

Cool pic BTW

Here it is so you do not have to link...

Yup, clear water is pretty harmless. I blast my alternator with a hose now and then to rinse out anything that has found its way in.

Damn shame that trail is no more...

There is a link to MudPhud's pics through my gallery:
http://www.ozxterra.com/xcursions/sultan.html

We hit a LOT of muddy water and holes. There is a pic of Motorzen in a nasty mudhole with me scrambling on his ARB trying to deploy a winch. I ended up getting under the rear and getting a hookup on the hitch to drag him out. That was some nasty mud. We all went throught several like it. Motorzen was the only one to get stuck. None of use had any issues from it.

I've been there (under the powerlines right?), just not with as much water and it was still messy.
